Edward Opoku ’15 Signs National Letter of Intent for University of Virginia
Edward will be joining Virginia’s Division I soccer program this fall.
Edward is Ghanaian and came to Millbrook through the Right to Dream program. The program strives to find talented boys and girls in Ghana and provide them with a world of opportunities through education and soccer.
During his time at Millbrook, Edward has proven to be an exceptional athlete. While competing in his last season at Millbrook, he broke the boys soccer career goals and points records. His career statistics include 80 goals, 30 assists, and 110 total points. He has also been a WNEPSSA all-select player each of his four years at Millbrook and was Millbrook’s first player to be selected to play in the High School All-American Soccer Game, where he delivered the game-winning goal and was recognized as a co-MVP. Coach Rick McWilliams stresses that Edward is “the most prolific offensive player we’ve ever had.”
Edward Opoku joins the Cavaliers as they look to defend the national championship. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Edward as he plays an essential role in the success of Virginia’s soccer team.
