Culminating Experience for Seniors: Presentations Begin!
On Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9, Millbrook School will have its fifth CES Festival. Millbrook families, especially senior parents, are encouraged to attend.
What does CES mean?
CES stands for Culminating Experience for Seniors. It is a project each
senior must complete his or her senior year in lieu of spring term
final exams. Each senior has chosen a topic of significance to explore
in a meaningful way, and each CES project has a sponsoring academic
department that will assess the CES.
Is every senior involved in the festival?
No, fourteen history CESes will have been presented earlier for
curricular reasons. There will be, however, 43 CESes presented during the
festival.
The
entire school community will be attending this festival. The intensity of focus on
this one endeavor by the whole community will, we hope, contribute to
an exciting and intellectually stimulating event.
When will the festival begin? The festival occurs Friday, May 8 from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, and resumes Saturday morning, May 9, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
How are the presentations scheduled, and where will they be held?
The CES program, including student name, CES title, date, time, and
location, is posted online - simply follow this link: CES Schedule.
(Last-minute schedule changes may occur; please refer again to the
schedule later in the week if you are planning to attend.)
If you have questions about the festival, please email CES Program Coordinator Somerset Waters, swaters@millbrook.org.
