Mustangs Fall to Ethel Walker

Gordie MacKenzie
On an uncharacteristically warm day, the Lady Mustangs played host to Ethel Walker. Millbrook came out to play as the girls quickly moved the ball in the opening minutes, putting immediate pressure on Walker's backline. At the 28:40 mark, Millbrook opened the scoring when Merritt Tessier served a cross into the box and Jazmin Mejia neatly flicked the ball past Walker's keeper. The score would stand for nearly the rest of the half, until Walker put in three goals of their own in the blink of an eye (3:12, 2:38, 1:06). Walker would add one more at the start of the second half before Tessier earned her second assist when she served another cross through the box and Audrey Lepore slammed her shot into the back of the net. Walker extended their lead with one more goal with 7 minutes remaining. Millbrook's keeper Kat LaFond did a tremendous job in goal, making 15 saves on 20 shots. Next up, the season-ending game against Pomfret.
