Playing Frederick Gunn on their home field, the Mustangs put up a fight, keeping their opponent to just one goal per half. More importantly, the Millbrook players started to show signs of working together. This was especially true of the defensive players, who worked together to apply high pressure in some situations, and slow down and disrupt breakaways in others. Standout performances came from Sophia Bortner, who stopped several chances near our goal; Analiah Fernandes, who put on a clinic on how to disrupt breakaways; Annabelle Pratt, who brought an aggressive style and persistent communication to the field; Lisette Lacroix, who made reliably smart choices despite being "out of position"; Liv Dillard, who picked up any role we asked of her to allow for her teammates to have a break off the field; and Leaf Frost, who used her body strategically to protect and acquire possession of the ball throughout the game.
