Millbrook School employs two full-time athletic trainers. The athletic trainer is a healthcare professional who collaborates with the Miller Brown Health Center to optimize the activity and participation of student-athletes.
Athletic trainers provide the following care for the student body to allow students to function optimally on and off the athletic field:
- injury prevention
- recognition and evaluation of injuries
- management and treatment of injuries
- injury rehabilitation
- organization and administration
- education
Athletic trainers also determine safe levels of participation and appropriate return to play guidelines. Athletes who are not able to participate in practices or contests are encouraged to engage in a rehabilitation program under the direct supervision of the athletic trainer.
