Though Eli’s love of music is longstanding, his ability to compose and record his own song ideas is the result of a relatively recent obsession. Eli used the time during lockdown to get familiar with guitar, bass, and keyboard and to learn how to use digital recording software. Back on campus, Eli discovered that the Holbrook Music Department was both a versatile and well-equipped workshop for his creative endeavors.
Eli quickly became enthralled with making his own music and designed his CES, called My Music Experience: Production and Songwriting, as an exercise in both creativity and productivity. He developed a creative workflow as he learned to transform ideas into actual musical compositions. Eli’s commitment to making new work and his growing awareness of the resources on campus to make that possible came together in the creation of his CES, a fully-produced song called “When It’s Over.”
