Wednesday's opening match of the season included seven scoring matches along with five exhibition matches at IMS's new squash facility. The IMS JV team might have been smaller in stature than many of our players, but they showed up ready to play. Many players extended matches to the third game in a best-of-three-games match format.
Highlights included the first Millbrook squash win for IIIrd former Everett O'Brien at the No. 1 position. Adrian He lost his third game 10–12 in a hotly contested match that included some fantastic points by both players. No. 6 and captain for the day Henry Fernandez squeaked out a win 13–11 against a talented opponent. Players 10–12 were all swept in two games but showed promise, as for many this was their first-ever squash match.
We will see IMS again later in the season and imagine it will be an even closer competition.
