Niko Rexine '21 signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I Hockey at Colgate University in the ECAC. Niko will return to his home state of New York after two years playing hockey in the Midwest, where he competed in the NAHL and USHL. During his first year at Millbrook (2019-2020), Niko notched 46 points in 31 games played and tied for the team's leading scorer with classmate Jake Percival, now a freshman at the University of Connecticut. Niko also led the team with 25 goals that year and helped lead the Mustangs to the #2 seed in the NEPSAC Piatelli/Simmons Tournament. Niko's senior year was shortened due to COVID, but he still managed impressive stats, earning 15 points in 6 games played.
After Millbrook, Niko spent a season with the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL, averaging over a point per game. This year, Niko is skating for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL and has 15 points in 29 games played.
Best of luck to Niko as he embarks on the next chapter as a Colgate Raider!
