Among many highlights of 2023 Alumni Weekend was the official dedication of Anthony House, complete with a ribbon cutting by Mr. Millbrook himself, Bob Anthony ’65. Bob’s family, friends, colleagues, and alumni crowded Pulling Circle, where the stately new building sits between Casertano Hall and a fully reimagined Pulling House. Wielding a giant pair of scissors, Bob was joined by his wife, Ann, and children, Arthur ’07, Mimi ’08, and Sarah ’12, to cut the ribbon and welcome the assembled to tour the building.
As the new home for Millbrook’s Alumni and Development Office, the building will also serve as a home for alumni returning for campus visits and events. Located on Pulling Circle, the focal point of campus, Anthony House was designed in harmony with Millbrook’s master plan by Daniela Voith of Voith MacTavish and blends function and form, comfort, and class.
Longtime Head of School Drew Casertano spoke glowingly about Bob and his success in making and maintaining connections with the supportive alumni whose generosity keeps Millbrook moving forward. Tom Pulling, son of Founding Headmaster Edward Pulling, traveled from Florida for the dedication of the new Pulling House next door. Before heading off to lunch in the Class of 2018 Meeting Room, scores of past and present faculty and alums raised a glass to Bob, who also received a Millbrook Medal that day.
Modern Millbrook would be an impossibility without Bob’s vision, dedication, and, let’s just say it, charm. His belief in the mission of the school, originated by founder Edward Pulling and shepherded through years of tranquility and tumult, is unshakable. Things that seem impossible are achieved and the inevitably of Millbrook is reinforced. Thanks to Bob, the people who have come together to create this place are fortunate to be able to do so while witnessing, in real-time, the future take shape.
