UPDATED: Mustangs Celebrate Spring Success

POSTSEASON UPDATE: It was a great spring to be a Mustang with plenty of postseason action on and off campus. Boys and girls lacrosse were NEPSAC Western New England Champions, with boys’ Head Coach Taylor Pirie earning Coach of the Year honors. With a gaudy 11-3 record, boys Mustang lacrosse was favored in the Western New England DII Tournament, and they took home the hardware. The Mustang girls hosted the Western New England Tournament and prevailed in challenging back-to-back matchups against Cheshire and Suffield, earning the chance to celebrate on their home turf.

 

In other postseason action, softball played into the class B semifinals before falling to Winchendon. Girls tennis were the #4 seed in Class C and played to a semifinal loss to a tough St. Luke’s team while fifth-seeded boys varsity tennis played into the Class C quarterfinals where they fell to Wheeler.

 

The school community gathered to honor standout teams and athletes during the spring athletic awards. Many individual Mustangs won NEPSAC recognition above and beyond kudos from coaches.
