Millbrook’s Independent Science Research course allows student scientists to explore their curiosity as they develop a hypothesis, design an experiment, and undertake a year-long research project in search of an answer. Some students utilized the Trevor Zoo, a stone’s throw from the Frederic C. Hamilton Math and Science Center, as a living laboratory for high-level research, while others mined the school community for data as they explored theories on sleep, stress, and smartphones.
A year’s worth of planning, research, and data analysis culminated in the 10th Annual Science Symposium, where our independent science researchers present their findings to the entire school along with visiting families and friends.
