Canterbury Invitational
Saturday, September 21st
New Milford, CT
The Millbrook School boys cross country competed on Saturday in the Canterbury Invitational as part of their season opener and first meet of the season. The race is traditionally a big one – multiple teams and four separate races based on gender and school divisions. For the first official day of fall, it was a warm one and the sun was intense. The Mustangs ran in the boys division 2 race, an event with 13 teams and a total of 88 runners. As a team, Millbrook took 11th place overall, and was narrowly edged out by the Frederick Gunn School, next week’s opponent on Millbrook’s home course. Third former Ollie Favuer posted a noteworthy top 20 finish (20th, 19:59) and Vincent He (45th, 21:36) and Dash Hoseth (57th, 22:41) were not far behind timewise in the 5k. This was a good showing by Millbrook’s younger runners and brand new members of the team. Rounding out the team scoring was sixth former Niklas Gradin (62md, 23:44) and Peter Wilkie (72nd, 24:47). Millbrook’s next meet is at home versus the Frederick Gunn School on Saturday, September 28th.
