Salisbury School Saturday, October 5th Salisbury, CT
The Salisbury School served as a splendid setting – complete with classic early October weather – for Saturday’s meet. Their course, which has a dramatic view of the Housatonic Range, is very challenging, and arguably even more so than Millbrook’s technical home course. The Mustangs ran well overall but were simply outmatched and outmanned by a much larger Salisbury team. Ollie Fauver ran strong and steady throughout the race, hung on, and notched a respectable second place in a time of 21:17, roughly 20 seconds behind the Salisbury winner. Vincent He had a gutsy performance and was able to secure a fourth place finish in 22:51. Captain Niklas Gradin recorded a top ten finish – 10th place overall in 24:55 – in the field of 25 runners, and Dash Hoseth was right behind him in a time of 25:05. Peter Wilkie rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs, placing 18th overall, 5th on the team, and rolling in across the finish line in a time of 27:49. Millbrook has a busy week ahead with a home JV invitational on Wednesday and an away tri-meet against Trinity-Pawling and Hotchkiss on Friday.
