Confidence Builds

The Mustangs continue to drive forward and realize improvements. We are a small team with big hearts.
The Mustangs traveled to Berkshire on a lovely Wednesday to play our second-to-last match of the season. Although we were again forced to play with just ten players on the field, the girls seemed excited as they whirled through our warm-up routine. I think they could tell that, overnight, they were suddenly much better at finishing crossed balls into the back corner of the net. Down just 1-0 at the half, the girls seemed optimistic. After an exciting breakaway goal by Michelle Wu early in the second half, the Mustangs suddenly found themselves tied. Although the Berkshire team found the back of the net twice more before the end of the game, the "Socks" earned several real chances, and held their heads high. Fans were treated to a breakout performance by Leah Frost and an excellent showing by goalie Emily Goico. We were grateful to the Berkshire team for allowing us to play 10 v 10, even though they had a much larger team. We appreciate their understanding and flexibility, and we congratulate them on their victory.
