On Thursday, Millbrook held a signing day for Francis Bonsu ’25, Jazmin Mejia ’25, and Jack Nestler ’25, as they officially committed to represent the
Millbrook Mustangs at the NCAA Division I level next year.
1. Francis Bonsu: UCLA Soccer
A standout on the boys varsity soccer team for the past three years—and squad captain as a Vth and VIth former—Francis committed to take the pitch for the
University of California, Los Angeles.
“Francis has not only brought a tremendous skill set to boys varsity soccer, but he’s also demonstrated an incredible work ethic to match. Since the first practice of the season, Francis has provided a model of tenacity that continuously inspires others.
"His technical talent and ability to lead by example will serve him well as he takes the next step in his career. We’re excited to watch Francis make Millbrook proud at the college level with the UCLA Bruins!”
2. Jazmin Mejia: UNC Greensboro Softball
Jazmin is headed to the
University of North Carolina Greensboro to play softball. She’s new to Millbrook, and Girls Varsity Softball Coach Lindsay Peterson is excited to help her develop during her final year in high school:
“Jazmin is an incredibly hardworking player who is always looking to get in extra reps,” Peterson said.
“Outside of Millbrook, she plays competitive travel ball and is an 18U Colombian national team member.
"Before coming to Millbrook, Jazmin helped lead her high school team to a sectional championship and was an All Section and All State selection in New York. Last season, she notched her 100th career hit, and we look forward to her adding to that total this upcoming season.”

3. Jack Nestler: St. John’s Baseball
The latest baseball star from Millbrook to take the leap to the collegiate diamond, Jack committed to play for the
St. John’s University Red Storm. Millbrook Varsity Baseball Coach Keith Del Valle noted how Jack earned his chance at St. John’s through hard work:
"A three-year varsity starter at Millbrook School, Jack has demonstrated tremendous growth during his high school career,” Del Valle said. “As a sophomore, he worked through challenges with control and was throwing in the low 80s, but his dedication and hard work have propelled him to consistently throw in the upper 80s, occasionally touching 90.
"Jack has been a key contributor to Millbrook’s pitching staff, mentoring younger pitchers and leading by example with his competitive spirit on and off the mound. While his collegiate focus will be pitching, he has also been an asset in the infield, showcasing his versatility.
"Over the summer, Jack played for the Canes National organization, where he found great success during his travel season. His physical development, highlighted by significant strength gains and conditioning, has prepared him for the next level, and he is poised for a bright future at St. John’s University.”
