Cross-Country - Girls
2024 - 2025
Head Coach: Katherine Havard
2012 and 2013 New England Division IV Champions
The girls cross country team runs a competitive schedule that includes both larger events and dual/tri meets. The season starts with the Canterbury Invitational and the Gordy Glover invitational at Suffield Academy; the Canterbury race includes most of the independent schools from Western New England. The team runs dual and tri meets with Frederick Gunn, Hotchkiss, Kent, Berkshire, and Sacred Heart. Opponents in larger races include Williston-Northampton, Ethel Walker, Suffield, Pomfret, Miss Porter's, and many others. Millbrook races in the Class C cross country Western New England championships and sends runners to the All-Star race every season, taking second in that race in 2021.
Millbrook boasts one of the most beautiful cross-country courses in New England. We hosted the New England Class D championships at the close of the 2012 season and won the event for the school's first-ever New England cross country title. We followed that up with another championship in 2013. Millbrook moved to Class C in 2015.
Millbrook girls and boys cross country train as one team, integrating mileage, strength and speed work, cross-training, and fun into practices every week. Coaches seek to instill a competitive, team-oriented spirit and a lifelong passion for running in all of our cross country athletes.
