Millbrook with the big rally, but Mustangs come up one run short
What a game! Millbrook spotted King an early 10-0 lead but then battled back with a big 4th inning, ultimately coming up just short of the comeback.
Abby Hylan started things off in the 4th with a triple. Natalia Danyluk batted Hylan in, followed by Tommi Nash reaching base and Evelynn Najork, Maya Miller, Danielle Singer, and Aaliyah Almeida all reaching base in a row. Danyluk then came back up with the bases loaded and delivered a bases clearing triple. Nash’s double scored Danyluk. This rallied the Mustangs and brought out the energy!
Milllbrook followed up their 9 runs with a quick 1-2-3 inning in the bottle of the 4th - capped off with Hylan’s rocket of a throw to Nash to catch the King runner stealing third.
Millbrook added to their total in the top of the 6th inning when Danyluk again raked a triple and was scored by Nash.
While the Millbrook momentum wasn’t enough to complete the comeback, the defense was solid from the third inning on.
Shouts outs to Almeida, Danyluk, and Nash for their 3 hits apiece, and to Morgan Reed for her 2 hits on the day. Danyluk also threw 8 strikeouts on the day.
The Mustangs look forward to taking on Kent at home this Wednesday.
