Millbrook Ends Season @ NEPSTA Championship

The Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed against 23 schools at the Division III NEPSTA championships at Cheshire Academy on May 20, 2017. The athletes performed well as multiple students performed their personal bests on a sunny and warm day in Connecticut. On the women's side, Suwaibatu Mohammed won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13 seconds flat. She was the top seed at the meet and lived up to the ranking while also earning All-New England Honors for her performance. She also added to her point value placing second in the 200 meter dash as the fourth seed. It was an all-around excellent performance for the first-time track and field star. The women's team finished tied for 10th place out of 23 schools with 18 total points. On the men's side, several members of the team had personal records. Ousseni Bouda just missed out on placing in Long Jump as it was one of the toughest fields in recent years. Third through 12th place were within 1 foot of each other. Ousseni finished 12th with a distance of 19 feet and 6 and half inches. Uni Hunte competed and had his best time in the 110 meter hurdle race as he has transitioned quite well into a hurdler. Zack Robertson was close to medaling in the Triple Jump as he finished fourth with a jump of 41 feet. Finally, Kazuki Unayama finished on a very high note as our top distance runner. He placed 7th against a strong field in the 1500 meter run with a personal best time of 4 minutes and 25 seconds. He did earn points in the 3000 meter run as he placed 5th with a personal best time of 9 minutes and 43 seconds. The men’s team finished 18th out of 23 schools. Congratulations to all of the performers!
