Island School Offers Students Glimpse into Environmental and Marine Biology Sciences

Seven students and two faculty members, Gordie MacKenzie '77 and Department Chair Ava Goodale '02, arrived safely on the Island of Eleuthera on Sunday. On day one, they dove into evironmental science studies on this weeklong academic adventure.
The group will learn about the various species of fish native to this part of the Bahamas, study how the Island School uses sustainable practices, policy and conservation efforts in the Bahamas, and ongoing research related to local marine life including conch, bonefish, and sharks.
