Millbrook Welcomes Leaders in Conservation to Campus

We gathered on Thursday, May 3rd, for the Conservation Leaders of Tomorrow 2.0 dinner.

We were thrilled to welcome our neighbors from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and Vassar College, as well as Conservation Biologist & Professor at George Mason University Dr. Thomas Lovejoy '59, President & CEO of The Association of Zoos and Aquariums Daniel Ashe, and Program Manager for the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation Dr. Ricardo Stanoss to campus for the event.

These important leaders in conservation stayed with us through Friday, May 5th, touring the Trevor Zoo and meeting with science students to discuss the current state of conservation efforts and career opportunities. Their visit concluded with a tour of south campus, which includes the canopy walkway, marshes, eco-hut, and observatory.

As environmental stewardship is one of Millbrook’s five core values and has been an important part of Millbrook’s programs and philosophical direction since the school's founding, it was a privilege to host Dr. Lovejoy '59, Mr. Ashe, and Dr. Stanoss.
