Mustangs Drop Season Opener v Hard-Hitting Suffield Team
First off, a HUGE shout out to our maintenance crew for getting our field ready today – 2 hours of hard work and lots of quick dry made of field playable, and we appreciate it! Shout out also to Jo’el, Hugh, Ryan, and Sharif for helping with the field prep.
Suffield’s solid hitting in the first inning gave them the early lead, and they never looked back. The Mustangs struggled to string hits together off good Suffield pitching but were able to tamp down or shut down the Suffield offense in subsequent innings, including 1-2-3 innings in the 2nd and 4th.
Shout out to Natalia Danyluk for collecting 6 strike outs and for hitting her first homerun as a Mustang. Danyluk’s homerun scored Abby Hylan after she reached base on a single.
We’re back at it this Saturday, at home v Westover.
