Mustangs refuse to let the score distract them from playing "with samba."
With a wonderful disregard for the score, the girls JV soccer players did as their coach asked them in focusing on in-game skills practice. Matilda Blue showed her team how to hustle to get open for her teammates. Sophia Bortner ran a girl almost twice her size off a 50/50 ball. Brooke Sheftel again showcased her ability to shield the ball from her defenders. Annabelle Pratt moved forward in the lineup to bring her excellent communication ability closer to the middle of the field. Leah Frost thwarted several attacking attempts in the second half at the center back position, moving dangerous balls away from the center of the field. It was a great game and a lively bus ride home. We are grateful to Holy Child for being kind opponents. In particular, we'd like to thank the Holy Child goalie, who generously offered advice to Mustang Celia Beatrice, who took over as our goalie in the second half of the game.
