The Lady Mustangs took on long time rival Canterbury on our home turf. While Canterbury had some dangerous chances in the first half, Millbrook's core defense held tight, led in goal by Radley Cherosnick. On the other side of the field, Millbrook generated numerous chances of their own as the team saw positive growth in their possession game. Millbrook would open the score on a PK at the 22:00 minute mark of the first half. Newcomer, Naomi Ofosuhemaa stepped up to the spot and netted her first career goal. Millbrook held onto the one-goal lead until Estee O'Brien served a through ball late in the second half to a cutting Merritt Tessier who found herself all alone with Canterbury's keeper. Merritt slipped the ball under the hard-charging keeper to double the lead—a lead that stood to the end of the game. The coaches would like to emphasize this was a team win, as contributions were made by many on the field. Next up, The Gunn.
