Millbrook Girls Take on the Wind and Best the Berkshire Bears in a Close Race

The Berkshire campus is known for blustery late fall weather, and this past Saturday did not disappoint! Millbrook and Berkshire girls shed their warm-ups at the last moment and accelerated down the hill on the first loop of the course. Andy Sassatelli immediately took a commanding lead, and Berkshire's No. 1 also separated herself from the group early on. Andy worked hard on her negative splits for the second and third miles, pushing all the way to the finish in 19:43, a new girls record on Berkshire's course! Well done.

The now-familiar pack of Selina Hung, Jaicee Downs, and Ingrid Schmitt hit the first mile together, with three Berkshire runners close behind, followed by Linna Du, Hailey Mesard, and the fifth Berkshire runner. The pack knew what they needed to do and they did it! By the final loop, Selina had solidified her third spot in the race. Ingrid battled with the second Berkshire runner all the way to the finish line, ultimately taking fifth just behind her, while Jaicee was 7th, Linna 9th, and Hailey 10th, and so the girls solidified another W!  Our final home race of the season is this Wednesday, October 30th, when we'll welcome Frederick Gunn, Hoosac, Forman, and Miss Hall's to campus. Come cheer us on!
