Typically, students head to Casertano Hall to consume delicious food prepared by our worldclass Aramark chefs. Over the weekend, though, the script was flipped, as teams of 5–6 student chefs representing each dorm on campus put their cooking skills to the test in the second annual Iron Chef competition.
Beginning with a standard lineup of ingredients, teams were tasked with preparing a stir-fry dish in under an hour. Right before the competition kicked off, lemon grass was introduced as a surprise ingredient that each team was required to incorporate into their menu.
When the fresh ingredients stopped sizzling, teams presented their creations to an esteemed panel of faculty judges: Michelle Blayney, Florent Lacroix, and Garvin McAlister. The trio of judges dug into their tasty task, ultimately declaring the Case/Clark/Guest team’s Kung Pao chicken and tofu dish the winner.
Congratulations to Peter Wilkie ’27, Daniella Baker ’26, Charley Li ’27, Catherine Page ’27, and Rachel Nayman ’26, the 2025 Iron Chef champions. For their victory, this team of talented cooks will help plan the menu for an upcoming Formal Dinner. They also won an ice cream social for their dorms.
Props to Student Activities Coordinator Eric Kennedy and the Aramark crew for their hard work organizing the Iron Chef competition.
