How to Apply

Seven Easy Steps to Apply to Millbrook School

1 Complete Our Online Inquiry Form

2
Schedule Your Campus Tour and Interview with the Admission Team
A campus tour is not required for the application process, but it is strongly recommended for all prospective students.

There are two ways to schedule your tour and interview:
  1. Once you have completed our inquiry form, follow the prompts sent to you in an email to set up your Millbrook website login. Once you log in to Millbrook's website, you can self-schedule your visit to campus by accessing your admission checklist.
  2. Contact us via email (admissions@millbrook.org) or phone (845-677-6873) to inquire about available dates and times for your visit.
Campus tours are offered during academic days:
  • Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays at 10:15, 12:15, and 2:05
  • Tuesdays at 12:20 and 2:05
  • Wednesdays at 9:15, 10:30, and 11:45
  • Saturdays at 8:30, 9:30, and 10:30

Consider Standardized Testing Options
Millbrook School is test-optional for students applying for admission. If you choose to submit a test score, please register to take the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) through the SSAT website or by phone (609-683-4440). Millbrook's SSAT code is 5092. Millbrook also accepts the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), PSAT, PreACT, SAT, and ACT. Millbrook may accept standardized test scores taken in previous school years. Please speak with the admission team about previous-year scores during the interview process.

Schedule a language-proficiency test if English is not your first language.
Millbrook School does not offer ESL courses and requires that students, for whom English is not their first language, submit an English-proficiency test as a part of their application. Students can submit a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS, or DuoLingo test as a part of their application. Millbrook's TOEFL code is 0851. Please contact the Admission Office at admissions@millbrook.org if you have questions or difficulty completing this portion of the application.

4 Complete the Application
Millbrook accepts the Enrollment Management Association's (EMA) Standard Application Online (SAO), which will be available on EMA's website as of August 1. Our application deadline is January 15.

5
Ask for References Early (but not before October 30)
Millbrook requires recommendations from your math teacher, English teacher, and guidance counselor/advisor/head of school/principal. You can access the recommendation forms through EMA's Standard Application Online. Additional references are always welcome, but not required.

6
Complete the Financial Aid Application
If you are applying for financial aid, please notify the admission office during the interview process and review the instructions for that process here. Complete the Clarity application (click here) and upload any additional current-year financial documents that are required. Financial aid applications are due by January 15.

7 Check for Notifications
To be considered for an admission decision on March 10 (the common notification date for boarding schools), all components of the application must be received by January 15. All prospective students and their parents will be able to track the progress of their application and receive decision updates through the Millbrook Portal. Once you submit your application, Millbrook will email you with your Millbrook Portal username and a temporary password. Please regularly check the email accounts that you provided to our admission office and your Millbrook Portal to learn about upcoming events, receive official notes from the admission office, and check the progress of your application. Please contact the admission office, admissions@millbrook.org, if you have any questions about your Millbrook portal account. Decisions will be posted to your Millbrook portal and will also be mailed on March 10. Families must confirm their intention to enroll by April 10th with a signed contract and enrollment deposit. Admitted students will have the opportunity to return to campus for accepted students programs in early April.

LATE APPLICATIONS
After January 15, Millbrook will accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the spring, subject to availability. If you wish to submit an application outside of the regular timeline, please contact the admission office directly, admissions@millbrook.org.
