In a game that once again saw every Mustang earn playing time, Millbrook lost to a deep and talented United States Military Academy Prep School (USMAPS) team. USMAPS houses future recruits that will be playing at Division I level Army next year. The caliber of foe was apparent in the first half, as USMAPS used stalwart defense and a transition attack to put Millbrook on its heels.
"We got punched in the mouth early and it took us a while to come back from being dazed. Halftime allowed us a chance to catch our breath and check our guts and then we came out and competed in the second half", said Coach Thom.
And compete in the second half the Mustangs did. Millbrook took the fight to USMAPS, coming out tied in rebounding with them after the game at 31 a piece. Behind balanced scoring and more aggressive defense, Millbrook won the second half by 4 points. Millbrook will look to take that momentum into a Class B matchup tomorrow at Wheeler School in Providence, RI.
