Nice Pre-Season Effort and Win

Coach Powers
Despite the weather changing and it getting quite cold, the Millbrook Squad came out hot. GCDS only brought nine and had to forfeit No. 3 doubles, but we still got eight matches in. Really proud of how Ireland, at No. 3, and captains Lily and Sophie, at No. 1 dubs, battled back after falling behind. The rallies fell short, yet we fought til the end. Lucy played an exceptionally smart match en route to an 8–5 victory at No. 4. Bea and newcomer Emelia also prevailed 8–5, winning net exchange after net exchange. The second round started with Millbrook neededing a win at either No. 1 or No. 2 singles to secure the match. Catherine never quite found her length and fell 2–8. Maggie Jones, at No. 2, left no doubt, playing exceptionally strategic Tennis to grab a bagel, 8–0. This match sealed the win!

There were some exhibitions, as Finley and Estee played a tough set, eventually falling 4–6.  Newcomer Ella and Vivian held on to win a fast four, 4–2.

Overall, a great effort by the team, which is all that any coach can ask for.
