Millbrook School alumnus Tad O’Had ’99 achieved an incredible career milestone recently, winning his 200th game as the general manager and head coach of the Kansas City Mavericks, a professional hockey team in the ECHL.

O’Had, who has helmed the Mavericks since the 2020–21 season, had already become the winningest coach in franchise and Kansas City professional hockey history when he notched his 187th win back in March. His career record now stands at 200–124–36, after the Maverick’s won their final regular-season game to cap off a 103-point season—topping the Mountain Division and good for third in the entire ECHL.

After graduating from Millbrook, O’Had played hockey at Connecticut College. He then co-founded and coached the Florida Jr. Blades before joining the Florida Everblades (ECHL) and then landing with the Seattle Kraken–affiliated Mavericks.

He’s now focused on winning his first Kelly Cup as a head coach, as the ECHL playoffs begin this weekend.
