Millbrook alumni Sheldon Freeman ’14 is a man of many creative talents, from music performance and production to scriptwriting and voiceovers. Well-known in the sports media industry, Freeman has made award-winning content for all the major sports leagues in the U.S., and he recently capped off what he termed as “the grand slam for sports narration” when he did a voiceover for a piece on NHL star Alexander Ovechkin’s chase for another Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals.

Freeman had already done voiceover work for the NBA, NFL, and NBA. His piece on Ovechkin completed his grand slam. Here’s the video that earned Freeman his accomplishment:

Congratulations to Freeman, who was recently on campus for our 2025 Alumni Summit. While here, he shared with current students about his journey from Millbrook School to working for ESPN and eventually starting his own company, Suspended Media. Freeman has won multiple Emmy awards for his work—including one for his associate production of the ESPN special KOBE: The Legend, The Legacy.
