Big 12 run 6th Inning Seals it for Millbrook

The Mustangs travelled to Hamden Hall for a WNEPSGSBA Class C play-in game v Hamden Hall.

The Mustangs got on the board in the 2nd inning when Aaliyah Almeida homered with two outs, scoring Natalia Danyluk. 

The Mustangs added three more runs in the 3rd inning. Kate Craig started off the hitting with a single, followed by Morgan Reed, Tommi Nash, and Danielle Singer.

Hamden Hall battled back in the 4th, adding two runs. Millbrook then responded with two runs of their own in the 5th inning, when Nash started things off with a double, followed by Danyluk reaching base on a walk, and Singer, Evelynn Najork, and Hylan adding hits. In the bottom of the 5th, Hamden Hall added three runs, leaving the score a tight 7-5.

The Mustangs then had a big 6th inning – plating 12. Extra impressively, 10 of those runs were scored with 2 outs. In that inning, Reed, An Tran, Nash, Danyluk, Almeida, and Craig added singles, with Najork and Hylan adding doubles. The Mustangs came out strong defensively in the bottom of the 6th – which started with Jess Trocchio making a great catch in right field and Danyluk sealing the deal with two strikeouts.

On the day: Nash, Najork, Alemida, Hylan, and Craig with 3 hits apiece; Reed and Singer with 2 hits each. Najork and Almeida with 5 RBIs  piece. And Danyluk with 6 strikeouts from the circle.

The Mustangs travel tomorrow morning for a rematch with King in the Class C semi-finals.
