First Loss
A talented Kent team came to Millbrook on a rainy Saturday. We played all the matches inside, with the doubles starting first.
Elle and Vivian continued their winning ways at No. 4, 8–2. Estee and Finley never got much traction and fell at No. 3. Sophie and Emilia Jumped out to a 5–2 lead, playing their best doubles of the year with passing shots, lobs, crisp volleys, and good serves. But their opponents won a couple of games before Sophie eventually served out the match.
At No. 1, there was a real battle. Lily and Bea also played inspired strategic doubles against two big-hitting players. A back-and-forth affair ended with us on the wrong end of a tiebreaker. While we didn't win any singles matches, the girls fought for every point against some seasoned competition. I could not be more proud of how hard we fought today.
