Millbrook Needs Overtime to "K.O." Kingswood Oxford
In a game that proved to be extremely exciting, Millbrook came away with the win thanks to timely scoring and stingy overtime defense. Down 20-14 late in the first half, the Millbrooks closed out the period on a 14-0 run and went into the locker room with a 28-20 lead. The second half, however, saw Millbrook really struggle with foul trouble, as 3 Mustang starters fouled out before there were three minutes left in the game. A timely floater by Tondi Mushandu gave Millbrook a 3 point lead with 5 seconds left in regulation. After a deflection by Ben Duhoski created a loose ball, fortune was not on the Mustangs' side and Kingswood Oxford hit a half court shot to send the game into overtime.
Overtime, however, was not so friendly to the host Wyverns, as Millbrook outscored Kingswood Oxford 15-8 to close out a great road win. It was truly a team effort.
Millbrook will be in action again on Saturday in their final home game of the season. They will host Master's NY at 3:30 on Saturday, February 15th. Hope to see you there!
