Avey Menard '12
Attorney
Avey Menard (they/them) is an attorney licensed in the State of Washington. They are a postgraduate legal fellow at the University of Washington Native American Law Center (NALC). In this role, Avey furthers NALC’s mission of extending support to American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities currently underserved by existing legal services. Their focus is on developing Tribal legislation and furthering indigenous self-governance, along with restoring lands and resources to Tribal stewardship.
 
Prior to legal practice, Avey received a bachelor's degree in studio art from Pomona College and worked for several years platforming queer and trans artists through curatorial, organizational, and exhibition efforts. In their spare time, Avey enjoys playing pickup basketball, Dungeons & Dragons, walking the dog around Seward Park, and supporting the puppet scene of the Pacific Northwest.
