CES - Mikayla '23

Making art has provided renewal and refuge for Mikayla. She recreated evocative childhood and recent photographs in multiple mediums as a way of reckoning with her past while also looking forward. Mikayla’s CES portfolio is comprised of moments that she found to be joyful within the structure of school and amidst everyday challenges. Through her art, she captured and shared her own joy as a way of encouraging strength in others who may struggle to feel happy or free.
