With the win in the New England Quarterfinals at home against King School, Millbrook's boys varsity basketball team advances to the NEPSAC Class B Semifinals, hosting The Rivers School on Saturday, March 8, at 3:30 p.m in the Mills Athletic Center. Here’s how you can help cheer the Stangs on as they look to punch their ticket to the championship game (Saturday, March 9):

Quarterfinal highlights:

Wray Gymnasium erupted as VIth former Chase Garcia ‘25 snuck under the basket and Amadou Fall ’25 found him from the top of the key for a reverse layup, putting Millbrook’s boys varsity basketball squad up 15–0 to start their first-round NEPSAC playoff matchup against King School. The Mustangs’ massive early lead was never in jeopardy, as they galloped past the Vikings 84–66 on Wednesday evening.

The Vikings fought admirably, but they were no match for the Mustangs’ athleticism, crisp passing, and accurate outside shooting. Millbrook overwhelmed the smaller King team on defense, swarming passing lanes and easily swatting shots to build a 40–20 lead at the half. King outscored Millbrook 46–44 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Mustangs’ early dominance.

Zoumana Traore ’25 led the Mustangs with 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting, delivering dunk after dunk to energize an already hyped-up crowd. Garcia added 19 points and 5 assists, and Fall stuffed the stat sheet with 8 points, 7 assists, and 7 blocks. Andre Widmer ‘25 and Joe Evangelista '25 contributed 8 points apiece.

But the play of the night came from Hezi McCoy ’26. Late in the second half, he received the ball near half court and capitalized on a clear path to the basket, soaring high for a one-handed slam that punctuated the Mustangs’ victory with a bold exclamation mark:
